What you can do today
On 31 Oct 2026 the public demo is still inside the window both Blizzard posts describe. The news post says 30 October–1 November. The PTR notes say 30 Oct 2026 at 10:00 PDT through 2 Nov 2026 at 10:00 PT. I keep both clocks on the demo page instead of picking a winner. The full mode is still OFFICIAL TBA.

Three classes, one hub
Slayer fights with a sword and a gun. Inquisitor stays at range with holy fire. Witch summons, spreads poison and spiders, and steps into a cat form called Feline Communion. All three can double jump, dodge, and guard. Read the Witch detail page for cat form and the spell kit. The comparison lives on classes.
Rewards are two different lists
Bound Silver, a Warband-bound currency, buys cosmetics at Nib’s store in Quillgrave: transmog, mounts, pets, and housing decor. Titles come from achievements. A second list, player power such as Venomstones and raid caches, shows up only in PTR achievement data and is sold by the Travelling Raven in Silvermoon City. I do not treat that second list as live. Read rewards and cosmetics separately.
Same spelling, different things

What is WoW Talebound?
Talebound is a PvE roguelite action-RPG mode inside World of Warcraft: Midnight. You create a Talebound character from the WoW menu and play story chapters from the Quillgrave hub. It arrives with patch 12.1.7.
Is Talebound a standalone game?
Blizzard and Wowhead both call it a standalone mode: its own character and kit, entered from the WoW client. It is not a separate product and it does not have its own download.
Is Talebound free?
The demo does not require a subscription. Blizzard has not announced an extra Talebound purchase. Whether the full mode still needs a WoW subscription or the Midnight expansion is not spelled out.
When is the Talebound event?
The demo opened 30 Oct 2026. Promo copy runs it through 1 Nov; PTR notes run it through 2 Nov at 10:00 PT. The permanent mode has no official release date.
