WoW Talebound demo times
On 31 Oct 2026 the Talebound demo is open. It runs on the patch 12.1.7 PTR client. Blizzard’s news post and Blizzard’s PTR notes do not name the same end time, so both stay on this page.

The promo sentence is “30 October–1 November.” The PTR development notes say “October 30 at 10:00am PDT through November 2 at 10:00am PDT.” Wowhead’s demo news and Blizzard Watch follow the promo dates. I use the PTR notes when I print a clock, and I still show the promo range beside them.
Time zones
The PTR notes explicitly write PDT (UTC−7) for 2 November, while America/Los_Angeles is on PST (UTC−8) that day. Those are different clocks. The table preserves both interpretations instead of silently correcting Blizzard: the literal PDT wording gives 17:00 UTC; a local 10:00 Pacific interpretation gives 18:00 UTC. Neither resolves the separate 1 November promotional end date.

What the demo contains
- Red Hollow prologue, then the Quillgrave hub.
- Three stories: Darkhaven, Greenthistle Wood, and Greywake’s Expedition. Grove of the Night Court is not in the demo.
- All three classes: Slayer, Inquisitor, and Witch.
- Difficulties named Normal, Veteran, and Heroic. Mythic shows up on PTR achievements, not as a demo difficulty in the announcement.
How you get in
Install the 12.1.7 PTR from the Battle.net app. There is no separate Talebound installer and no browser build. The demo post says no subscription is required. It does not say that any Battle.net account can skip the PTR client. After the window, the next public chance is the live patch, which is still OFFICIAL TBA. Entrance steps are on How to play.
Blizzard has not said whether demo characters or Bound Silver survive the test. Blizzard Watch guessed that progress resets. I leave that cell empty.

How do you play the Talebound PTR?
Install the World of Warcraft 12.1.7 PTR with the Battle.net app, then enter Talebound from the game menu and create a Talebound character. There is no web client.
What is the WoW Talebound demo?
A timed public test of the mode: Red Hollow, three of the four stories, all three classes, and Normal, Veteran, and Heroic. It does not require a subscription.
Is Talebound free?
The demo is free of a subscription. Blizzard has not announced a separate Talebound price, and it has not fully described the live-mode subscription or expansion requirement.
